What's On Your Calendar? | November 2017

There's a ton of opportunity to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. Last year, Katie & I took Braylee to Bull Run's Festival of Lights and the ICE! attraction at the National Harbor. Bray loved checking out the lights from the comfort of a heated car. Unfortunately she didn't feel the same way about ICE & wearing multiple layers of clothing (this will definitely be a grudge she holds against Katie), but at least I was able to get some adorable pictures of her!

Below are some of the events on my family's calendar for the month of November. There's no way we'll be able to get to all of them but we'll definitely be attending the Bull Run Festival of Lights & the 27th Annual Holiday Parade at Reston Town Center.

November 3: Flicks on the Bricks at One Loudoun presents Frozen; 6:30-8:30pm

November 4: Bratwurst, BBQ, and Mulled Wine Fall Festival at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center and Gazebo; 11am-4pm; 60 Ida Lee Drive, Leesburg VA 20176

November 4: The Taste of the Season Food & Wine Festival at The National Conference Center; 18980 Upper Belmont Place, Leesburg VA 20176; 1pm-5pm

November 10: Flicks on the Bricks at One Loudoun presents How The Grinch Stole Christmas;6:30-8:30pm

November 17: Flicks on the Bricks at One Loudoun presents The Santa Clause; 6:30-8:30pm

November 18 - 19: 2017 Holiday Craft Show at Fairfax High School; 3501 Rebel Run, Fairfax 22030

November 18 - January: Christmas on the Potomac with ICE! at National Harbor (check out the groupon here)

November 22 - January: Bull Run Festival of Lights & Holiday Village at Bull Run Regional Park;7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville 20121

November 24: 27th Annual Reston Holiday Parade, Tree Lighting, Sing Along at Reston Town Center; 11am-10pm

November 25: Thanksgiving Craft Beer & Wine Festival at Tysons Biergarten; 8346 Leesburg Pike, Tysons 22182; 1-6pm

For those of you that live around Reston and enjoy the winter season strolling the town center - the Ice Skating Pavilion at RTC opens November 4th! Meadowlark's Winter Walk of Lights opens November 10th and runs daily from 5:30-10:30pm. I highly recommend purchasing tickets ahead of time as each group has a 'start time' to enter the grounds.

We all know family bonding time can be hard to come by. Doing the same things time after time becomes a bit redundant as well. Since it seems like this problem is all too common, I searched Groupon for some memory-making activities fit for the family, here's what I came across and would like to pass along:

Horseback Riding Lessons at Castle Strasburg

Pottery Wheel Class in Fairfax

Oktoberfest River Cruise or Fall Fest River Cruise

Adventure Park at Terrapin Adventures
